Zero day today, and a very good one. We rested, ate, washed, and prepared ourselves for the next 9 day section to Queenstown.
We have found ourselves thinking of our hiking friends lots today, hoping that they are enjoying themselves wherever they are. Both the guys we have been hiking with gave us food in the last section to get us through a tight spell, so we hit to local Four Square today for some extra snacks to keep us well fuelled in the coming section. It's funny how we now look for food with the highest amount of calories for the lowest amount of grams, the hiker diet. Peanut Butter was the winner for today, and often is. You sure find a lot of PB amongst backcountry hikers. Just can't beat something that is 50% fat. Delicious.

We start the hike to Queenstown tomorrow. To get there we hike over a few more high and fun parts, through to Lake Hawea, Wanaka, Glendu Bay, Arrowtown, and then eventually to Queenstown. We will update the blog whenever we have reception.
Looking forward to this section and that it signals the beginning of the last month of our journey. Hard to believe that we only have about 25 days to go. We want to enjoy these last days, not wish them away, but at the same time we are excited to nearly be at the end of our hikoi. What an adventure. No doubt there is much more adventure to come, bring on the trail tomorrow.
